This is a great tool to find great images and avoid violate copyright rules if you go to the Creative Commons side of Flickr. This tool gives teachers the opportunity to pull pictures legally from the internet to aid student learning as well as give students the ability to find pictures for projects and presentations. This is a great tool!

Thing 8-RSS Feeds

Where have RSS feeds been all of my life!?! Wow, how easy and convenient! I have so much information at my finger tips and I don't have to search for hours to find it. Using an RSS feed is like my own personal assistant finding the information I want to know for me. It will shed a lot of time spent researching for information on my favorite things. I will definitely be sharing this information with others, especially my mom. It'll be great to find information on new simple recipes, news and fun new crafts.

The Importance of You Tube

Through working with teachers and observing in their classrooms, You Tube has became the new best friend for most of them. Children now a days use technology all of the time and are used to going on-line to find out information. Videos are a great way to helping students understand a concept, and the short clips on You Tube have been a great addition to any teacher's tool box.

For example, if I was teaching students about Ground Hog Day, besides just reading a book and learning about the history of the day, I could pull up the exact video of the ground hog coming out, so they could see if the ground hog predicted an early spring or a longer winter. This video would allow them to actually see the tradition and what we have been learning about. I think it's better for children to see what we are learning, instead of always just being told. There are many other instances I could use You Tube to teach them something educational, in an efficient and quick way that is also entertaining to them.
